About These Prints:

These prints are reproductions of the original artwork made by the Giclée (pronounced 'jhee-clay') digital printing process. The Giclée print is an archival quality fine art reproduction, created utilizing a high resolution digital print technology that delivers continuous tone images on either paper, canvas or other media. Giclée is a French word meaning "sprayed, jetted or spurted", referring to the ink-jet method used to deposit inks on the media. Unlike traditional lithographic methods and other digital techniques which require plates for printing, each Giclée print is individually priced, with the digital image being separately sent to the digital ink-jet printer. These Giclée prints have an effective resolution of 1800 dots per inch (DPI) with no visible dot screen pattern and are printed utilizing an 8 color process, providing outstanding detail and color quality. In addition, the archival properties of Giclée prints have undergone extensive independent research, and under proper display conditions may even outlast the artwork itself. Giclée prints have been exhibited by and are now in the collections of The British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum and The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The San Francisco Museum, and many other major institutions.

The high resolution digital scans utilized in the making of these prints are all made directly from the original artwork.
